Somali man arrested with drugs

Malta: A 31-year old Somali man was detained by immigration police after some 10 kilos of Khat drug was found in his luggage at the Malta International Airport on Saturday. The man arrived in Malta on a flight from London holding a UK passport.

Magistrate Dr Michael Mallia was informed about the case and appointed various experts to aid the enquiry, which is underway.

Seven man and three women were arrested by Police during the first hours of the morning after ecstacy and cannabis were found in their possession during a party which was held in Paceville. Their ages range between 16 and 28 years, di-ve.com report said.

On Friday afternoon, a 30-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Pieta, were detained by Police after cocaine and other drug related equipment were found in their possession, with clear indications that the drug was intended for trafficking.

Further Police investigations are underway.
