Somalia: A landmine explosion has reportedly claimed the lives of some 30 Ethiopian soldiers, injuring 76 others in central Somalia's Hiiran region.
The troops were killed after their three vehicles hit the landmine in the Lego town.

Some 76 soldiers were also injured in the incident.

In a similar blast in Towfiikh district, 12 Ethiopian troops along with eight Somali soldiers were also killed earlier in the day, Press TV report said.

Violence took its toll on the Ethiopian military last week. On Thursday, at least 100 soldiers died in two separate attacks, one of which had been carried out by al-Shabaab fighters in a region 90 kilometers south of the capital of Mogadishu.
