Getting There:

Air: Regular flights to Nouakchott from Paris are available. You can also fly from Casablanca and Algiers a couple of times a week, as well as catch flights from Dakar, Bamako, Banjul and Abidjan.
Road: Travellers are advised to avoid land crossings

Best Time To Visit: April and October.

Travel Around:

Air: Air Mauritanie runs regular internal flights to Nouadhibou, tar, Nema and several other towns. Early booking is recommended.
Road: Driving is possible through some of Mauritania.
Rail: There is a train running from the capital to Zouerat carrying iron ore and passengers. The trip is mostly at night.
Driving: International Driving Permit recommended.

Passport and Visa: Required, but NOT by following:
