Ngorongoro to Lengai Trek
Constitutes in walking through the forest from the northern side of the crater to reach the ranger post near the village of Nainokanoka, the first night's camp. Trekking in the Crater Highlands can be extended for several more days. Some other mountains and areas, which could be added to the previous trek, include, Oldeani and Lake Eyasi, Gelai, Longido. Monduli Mountains and Mount Hanang.

Stage 1: Ngorongoro Crater to Nainokanoka
12km, 4-5 hours
Constitutes in walking walk through the forest from the northern side of the crater to reach the ranger post near the village of Nainokanoka, the first night's camp.
Stage 2: Nainokanoka to Empakaai Crater
25km, 7-8 hours. From Olmoti, the trekking heads northeast across the grasslands of the Embulbul Depression, towards Empakaai Crater, to reach the lightly wooded crater rim on its southern edge.
Stage 3: Empakaai to Nairobi Village
7km, 2 hours. From the north or northeast side of the crater the walk trails gradually to a village called Nairobi.
Stage 4: Nairobi Village to Ngare Sero
27km, 8-9 hours. This trek goes through beautiful grassy hills and patches of light woodland, along a ridge running parallel to the main Rift Valley.
Stage 5: Ngare Sero to 0l Donyo Lengai Summit & return
10km (approx.), 8-10 hours. Lengai is best approached on its western side from Ngare Sero. Between Ngare Sero and Lengai's lower slopes is three hours walking each way.
