Somalia: Ethiopian troops shot dead two civilians
Published on Monday 7th April 2008Somalia, Apr 7: Two people are killed and three others seriously wounded as Ethiopian troops open fire on a bus heading from Mogadishu to Afgoye town.
The regional transit bus was driving past Ethiopian soldiers as it came under heavy gunfire. The shoot-out left a 9-year-old boy and a man killed on the spot. Three women were also injured in the incident, Press TV report said. A host of Ethiopian soldiers have meanwhile poured into the area. They have begun to search for weapons in vehicles commuting between the Somali capital and Afgoye town. In another development, French military helicopters and warships launched an operation aimed at capturing those behind French tourists' abduction. The soldiers involved in the operation are from the 2900 French soldiers based in Djibouti, they are part of multinational troops helping the US in the Red Sea.
