Published on Sunday 13th July 2008

Somalia: Mogadishu mayor Mohamed Omar Habeeb (Mohamed Dhere) has punched several times against Yemeni envoy on allegations of interference of his administrational work on Sunday night-sources at Yemeni Embassy told Mareeg online.

The sources said Mohamed Dhere has served a defamation notice to the Yemeni envoy Ahmed Hamid While stating that he had to stay out about his administration regarding corruption or negligence in statutory duties,

Mr Hamid has said that he had decided to go on leave for two days to express strong protest against the arbitrary and illegal act of Mohamed Dhere. Charging the Commissioner for intentionally and deliberately defaming and insulting him.

Hamid asked for a public apology from Mohamed Dhere for issuing derogatory statements.

Hamid has also called upon the Commissioner to pay reparation on his act.

Sources further stated that the arbitrary punch was not based on any specific rules, While explaining their position, the officers have categorically pointed out that it had become routine to threaten the officers by the Somali regional officers, suspend them if they did not provide desirable work within the given time frame.

If some officers express a varying opinion on any case, he would have been labelled as anti-commissioner.

Its yet unknown the last decision that the Yemeni officer will talke.
