16 Killed After UN Plane Crashes in DR Congo

A United Nations plane has crashed in the Democratic Republic of Congo, killing at least 16 people.U.N. officials say the plane was carrying 29 passengers and up to four crew members when it crashed at the airport in the capital, Kinshasa, Monday afternoon.  Authorities say the plane was trying to land in torrential rain when it hit the runway and broke into pieces.A U.N. spokesman in New York says rescue teams are working at the crash site. Initial reports from the scene say at least a few people survived the crash.The flight had originated in the northeastern Congolese city of Kisangani.
