4 Killed, 9 Wounded in Somali Capital Mogadishu Battles

At least 4 people were slain and 9 others wounded in Mogadishu battles that was between Somali transitional government forces joined by Africa Union peacekeepers and Al shabaab fighters, witnesses said

The combats which erupted on Friday night lasted since this morning as most of confrontations took place in the districts of Hodan, Howlwadag and Bondhere in northern and southern parts of the war-devastated seaside Mogadishu.

Local residents confirmed Shabelle Media Network that fighting broke out on Friday night after more Al shabaab fighters launched vehement hit and run attacks on several Somali troops and AU forces in the capital.

A witness in Mogadishu's Wardhigley district reports that a haphazard mortar from the warring sides hit a neighborhood in the district, killing 2 civilian persons and wounding 3 others

Neither from Somali forces, AMISOM peacekeepers nor Al shabaab has released any statement about there are casualties both sides faction inflicted each other.

Reports said that Shaky calm returned in Mogadishu battle zones as guns on silence.
