Michelle Obama Goes on African Safari

U.S. first lady Michelle Obama went on a South African safari Saturday at the end of her two-nation African tour. Obama, joined by her daughters, mother and a niece and nephew, saw an elephant as the group headed out into the Madikwe Game Reserve. The family rode in an open-air off road vehicle, in search of lions, giraffes and other animals on the sprawling reserve. Earlier Saturday, the first lady visited a local restaurant in a village outside of Botswana's capital, Gaborone.Obama has been in Africa all week, promoting youth leadership, the empowerment of women, and healthy living. During her two-nation tour to South Africa and Botswana, the first lady met with the presidents of both countries (( South African President Jacob Zuma and Botswana's President Ian Khama )) as well as Nobel Peace Prize winners Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu.She also delivered an emotional address to an enthusiastic group of young women at Soweto's historic Regina Mundi Church, a center of South Africa's anti-apartheid movement.
